2nd Lt. Harry Norman RAF.

On a local war memorial in Eston Cleveland is the name
2nd. Lt H. Norman RAF.
Acording to CWGC records, 2nd. Lt. Norman died on the
02/06/1918. His unit is shown as 204th Training depot
station.
Anyone know where this station was and how this officer
died?

Alan.

Hi Alan -

Accoring to "Airmen Died in the Great War", Norman, aged 20 was Killed while flying Sopwith Camel B'5744 with 204 TDS. No other details there.
The Camel File provides that Norman was killed in a stall spin from 20'.

204 TDS appears to have been at Eastchurch.

It lists him as a native of Eston, England. What's the Cleveland connection ?

Hope that helps.
Mike

2nd Lt. H.Norman.

ONEALM,
Many thanks for your reply, grateful for the
information on this pilot.
In answer to your query on the 'Cleveland'
connection, Eston is a town in the English county
of Cleveland North East England. No connection
with Cleveland Ohio USA.

Thanks again,
Alan.

Alan -

My pleasure to supply what little I have access to. Thanks too for the geography lesson.

Keep at it,
Mike
