All in due time. I am busy captioning, ordering (numerically) and putting in the proper Schiffer 'print' codes. Time, time, time!!! If only I had some free!! (Time, that is!). R.

Hi Tobias

As Rick mentioned the "changing" of the rules for the Schustas into Schlastas
created a "huge" problem for ordinary FA/FAA who suddenly become without protection for their front flights...

It also led to "extremely" high losses for the German Air Force (not only the problem with waiting for the DVIIs) during Apr and May 1918...

However, already in Mar 1918 several FA/FAA started build up B]own[/B] protection, and by summer it was again an OK situation for most of them..

Dear friends,
thank you for all information. I think, Reinhard is right.
The pilot is Josef Maubach from FA(A)293b.
Nice photo, although not a Schlasta

Regards

Buddecke
