Howard Burdick - 14 October 1918

On the 14th of October Howard Burdick describes how he forced to land a Fokker DVII and then killed the pilot on the ground.

I am wondering who that pilot might be since i dont have any German loss to correspond to it....Anyone?

Regards
Joao

According to TJWC there were two KIAs: Flg. Max Thomas of J.73 near Liart and Ltn.zS Max Stinsky of MFJ.4 at Snelleghem. The latter was out of the US op area. Don't know about Liart. Four others were WIA.

I have Jasta 73 based at Thin le Montier by Charleville in the 1. Armee on this date. I believe this indeed was in the American sector. Don't know about the circumstances surrounding the death of Thomas. R.

Burdicks claim

Burdick's claim says Northeast of Haussey.....i dont know where that is, but anyway i beleive its in the Somme region where 17th Aero was operating at the time...

Was Jasta 73 in the Somme or somewhere else?
