Question Friedrich Vollbracht's Birth Date

Gentlemen,

Friedrich Vollbracht scored at least two air-to-air victories during WWI and two more during WWII as Kommodore of ZG-2. What was the birth date of him? I have one in one of the Ritterkreuz websites that said Vollbracht was born in the year 1887 which I doubt it was correct.

Sincerely,

Edward

Hello,

I have the date 8 February 1887 as his birthdate, but on his grave-stone is written 1897 - 1968!

Question Born In Late 1890's?

Dear Sir,

Just as I thought! Perhaps Friedrich Vollbracht was born in 1897 instead of ten years earlier. At the age of 43 in 1940,he would've have more pep and vigor piloting the Messerschmitt Bf-110 twin-engined fighter and shooting two enemy planes down with it. 53 was too old to fly as fighter pilot if Vollbracht was born in 1887. I think probably the gravestone is correct in mentioning the year of his birth and his death.

Sincerely,

Edward
