Bonsoir a tous,

I re-re-read a french book regarding WWI pilots and I noted that in two time, the author speak of MvR portrait.

First when MvR was doing a relationship tour in Germany, evererybody know this anecdocte of MvR in front of a portrait of himself and asking at an old man near him, " I seem to have a likness with this portrait" and the old man answering "HO! never".

The second, at end of war, when Fonck and his partners of GC 12 arrived at NEUSTAAT near HAGUENEAU, they pay a visit at german Kasino of airfield, find a bottle of wine, take glass and discover a portrait of MvR, give a toast to him!

These both facts, give to my mind the question that I don't know portrait of MvR!
I think that a such personality, was subject of several portraits? ( for Guynemer, they are a lot )

Thank you in advance for answers and comments.
Of course is also for other aces.

I know of three. Two are in the hands of private collectors. One is unaccounted for and said to be in the Louvre.
