Question FA (A) 230 in year 1916

Hello all

I am looking for more information about unit "FA (A) 230" (airfields, COs) and members (pilots and observer).

For any kind of help, thanks

Tobias

Hi Tobias

AFA 230 was formed by FEA 4 (Posen) on 14 Mar 16. The unit was reported fully operational on 1 Jun 16, which means that it is uncertain if they were "in action" during this "spring period"...

Airfields are known as Bjelizy (S Lida) in Jun 1916. Later in Jun 1916 they moved to Kameljani where they stayed until late Dec 1916. After that they moved further to Kniaze...
They were attached to 2 KuK Army from "origin"...I dont knew if they changed Army during 1916...

In Dec 1916 the unit was renamed from AFA to FAA...

hope it helps a little

Gunnar

Hello Buddecke and Gunnar, Fl.Abt.(A)230 stayed at Kniaze (west of Zlocow in Galicia) through 12.06.1917, known at Hordyscze (east of Tustoglowy) from 22.-26.07.1917, in August they moved to Wasyikowce with Südarmee, then in September to Chorostow, known at Kobyolwoki in December. Then I become uncertain where they were. Regards, August
