Hi Michael,
My maternal grandfather was Driver George Tester, flying as Aerial Gunner with 20 Squadron RFC: KIA with his pilot Captain JS Campbell in Bristol Fighter 'A7210' 28.09.17, shot down by Harald Auffarht of Jasta 18.
George was originally a horse ambulance driver with 141 Field Ambulance: but his unit ended up based near Cassel in Summer 1917, only a stone's throw from where 20 Squadron was based at Ste Marie Cappel. Perhaps that's how he came to join the RFC.
'Never Forgotten'
Bob
