can't one distinguish FA's from Kasta's etc. by counting pilots and observers? How can tell us about the "Head-Number" of men in certain units?
Thorsten
BTW: I am sure Germany (like all other nations) communicatied new organisation of units and their duties etc. in paperwork. Does anyone of you have these documents... or where can I find those?

Based on the uniform insignia, cap cockades and qualification badges, I think the men found in both pictures are Bavarians. Also, there are several Austrian officers mixed in with the bottom party picture.
Buddecke- Enjoy your web site. Based on the fact the only badges showing in the top photo are Beobachters and most do not have badges at all, plus Dave's comment on Bavarians and Austrians, I would say you are looking at a Bavarian Fliegerersatzabteilung pilot training class. Now you just need an expert to tell you the FEAs in Bavaria and you will have it narrowed down.
