During my holidays I visited some cemeteries where airmen are buried. The books of Mike O'Connor helped me a lot. So I came for instance to Annouellin German Cemetery where Albert Ball has his grave. I also visited the marker at Albert Ball's crash site.
For those who are interested here are some pictures I took.
I thought that Ball's father bought the plot of land on which the memorial stone is erected.
crankcase
If it is true that Ball's father bought the field from its then owner, reputed to have been a M Deloffre, the father of the damsel in whose arms Ball is supposed to have expired, then who is its registered proprietor now ? That was nearly 90 years ago.

Too myopic to comprehend
I don't know who after ninety years the owner is of the field. I was about to tell you the same as Crankcase did. I know that Albert Ball's father gave the plot of land "for the use of French soldiers on condition that this stone is protected".
