New Movie on Manfred von Richthofen
Hi,
by chance I found the information in the net, that there is a new movie (not a documentary but a real film) about the Red Baron... (for the Germans: Til Schweiger is playing Werner Voss!)
It will be in the cinema/tv in 2007

Der Rote Baron
Hi frontflieger,
I think that they have been talking about this movie in the Movies and Television Forum area. Here is a link to it!
Der Rote Baron
Very Best Regards,

How does it end?

How does it end?
With the foundation of a Pizza service!
This links shows a homepage with a photograph of Matthias Schweighöfer (who is suffering from "Flugangst" if we believe one of the sources):

One of the responsible managers claimed they found 70 old biplanes and triplanes in Europe and therefore they could save the expensive production of replica.
In the movie MvR´s love will be "sister Käte" - you remember the photograph with MvR with head bandage and the sister.

Hallo Rammjaeger,
QUOTE: "...they found 70 old biplanes and triplanes and therefore they could save the expensive production of replica." I think they found them in a computer program!
And thanks for posting those links! Lena Headey is quite beautiful! Plus, since one of the young posters on the first link you posted called Matthias Schweighöfer "the sexiest man alive" I think we can all rest easy now, knowing the role of MvR is in good hands!! Sigh....

Greg,
I am expecting a Bollywood-like dance show with Schweighöfer (the perfect boygroup member) and Headey in the dream sequences of the movie -
if MVR is agonizing after the fatal shot.
BTW another source wrote about 23 replica if I recall that correct. I would not wonder if they mean model flyers.

Keep your expectations low... the producer's take on it practically ensures a historical travesty for the sake of movie revenue. Still, a WWI aviation movie is a WWI aviation movie.
I still watch Richthofen vs. Brown occasionally.

If somebody is looking for a rediculous hollywood story with some WW1 action in it, this is it. If you're looking for an accurate, interesting take on Richthofen and all the happenings of the time, this ain't it. Someday I hope for a neat historical glimpse at Richthofen. I don't think this is it.

We'll never see an historically accurate depiction of MvR anymore than we will ever see an historically accurate depiction of the Shootout at the O.K. Corral and for the same reasons.
