Frank Luke sept 1918 "Credit" ?

On the Interent I saw a photo of the balloon buster Frank Luke beside the wreckage of a Victory which he shot down Sept 18, 1918 at Rembercourt.
Who did he shoot down?

The photo you're referring to was one of a series taken at Luke's request at around 6pm on Weds, 18 September. The kill had taken place only a short while before, around 430pm. The most likely candidates were Ltn Karl Hohne and Ltn Ernst Schulz of FA 36, flying a Halberstadt C model. Several French planes were also involved in this fight and had been stalking the Halberstadt for some time when Luke dove in and "stole" the kill.

He never was much for waiting.

BTW, the victory did not occur at Rembercourt. That is where Luke took off from. The victory fell in the forward section of US lines south of Jonville. No, its not the same Jonville south of Paris. This was during the St. Mihiel offensive and was some 200 miles further west.
