Post Paul Bäumer last victory

Hello with all,

I seek more information about the last victory of Paul Bäumer.

On October 9, 1918, Paul Baümer cuts down the Bristol F.2b E-2256 of the 62 Squadron to control by the captain Lynn Campbell and like observer the 2nd Lieutenant William Hodgkinson.

This pilot and this observer had the habitute to fly together and were not beginners considering whom they obtained six victories in colaboration and whose last was descended Fokker D.VII with Préseau and comfirmer as destroyed.

I seek the place exact or the plane of Campbell was crushed because I do not know if it is in Préseau, village this finding with some kilométres at home where if it is in the Mormal forest close to Quesnoy.

And also I will want to know who was there the pilot of Fokker D.VII cut down this day.

Which plane controlled Paul Baümer there this day, to control you it on Fokker D.VII where on Pfalz D.VIII.

Here the photograph of the tomb of Lynn Campbell of William Hodgkinson who this finds in the communal cemetery of Préseau.

Thank you black baron

On 9Oct18 Ltn.d.R. Hans Braun of Jasta 34b was KIA near Fonsomme, Beauteux. However, his Jasta was serving in the 17 A., whereas Jasta 2 was with the 2. A. Not sure if this helps or not. R.

Paul Bäumer would certainly have been flying a Fokker D.VII this day.

baron- Greg is absolutely correct. Paul crashed his beautiful Pfalz D.VIII in late May and was out of action for several months. As far as we know, he never flew another Pfalz D.VIII.

thank you Sirs for your answers,

I did not know that Baümer had had an accident with its Pfalz D.VIII. I thought that it had been wounded with the combat.

On October 9, 1918 which pilots of Jasta 2 or Jagdgeschwader III have took part of this mission and obtained a victory.

thank you all

baron- Courtesy of Rick Duiven's unpublished Jasta war diaries, Ltns Loffler and Vallendor of Jasta B also scored vicories on 9 October at 1440 hours near Sebourg. No time on the Baumer victory so do not know if they were in the same engagement.
