Recently, and by accident, in Liverpool, England, I found the grave of a man whose son had been killed during the Great War on May 7 1917, the same day as
Albert Ball's death. The man's son was 2nd Lt. Iorwerth ap Roland Owen, 13th Sqdrn, who was the tenth "kill" of Karl Allmenroder of Jasta 11.
The father was a Welshman, who was a doctor in Liverpool, and he commemorated his son's death on the family memorial. The monument states that the son was killed flying against five enemy aircraft over Arras. Would anyone know whether Allmenroder's account of the fight is available or not? Or whether there are any photos of Savy airfield or Owen exist? How easy is it to trace Owen's war or flying record?
Please forgive me my questions......I'm new to this sort of research.
