Rickenbacker question?

Below is an image of Rickenbacker wearing a very light color pair of breeches. They somewhat resemble "pinks", but they are even lighter than that, and they predate "pinks" as well. What are they?

For some reason I can't see your photo, but I'm willing to speculate. In his autobiography, Rickenbacker wrote about going to a tailor in Paris and having a uniform custom made to his own design because he didn't like the uniform he was issued. It's possible the uniform in your photo is this custom design (I'm sorry, I don't recall if he mentioned the type or color of material he used).

Thanks for the info. Here's a link. Maybe that will work better.

Take a look at this RFC uniform offered on ebay 180119387240. The pants seem to be very similar to those in the photo.

They are close, but look at the color. Rickenbacker's breeches almost look off-white like on the cover of this book:

I was actually thinking about buying that uniform, but there is no name, and for all I know, the tunic could be an old movie repro. That's the problem with many Ebay purchases in this area. I only buy named now, for the most part. At minimum, I want some good provenance for higher priced items.
