Recommended for the Blue Max

Hello,

This list contains airmen who were nominated/recommended for the Blue Max, but for some reason didn't receive it.

Friedrich Noltenius ????

Otto Schmidt

Maybe someone can add other names to the list or give his comment.

According to a note of the General of the 3rd Army (von Einem)

Hartmuth Baldamus was in the channel for the PlM. As well he was suggested for the Saxon Militär-St. Heinrichs-Orden but his untimely death prevented both awards.

BTW his name is often written in error as Hartmut Baldamus.

Thanks for your reply. I found another one:

Rudolph von Eschwege. He was recommended for the PLM after his 19th victory, but he died soon afterwards.

I remember also an older thread here which indicated that some other aviators in the area of the 3rd Army were suggested (?) for the PlM.
