William Wheeler
Any additional info on William Allan Wheeler and/or William Albert Wheeler? The GOGS have William Allan Wheeler serving with 88 Squadron and scoring 6 victories. Anyone know which squadron William Albert Wheeler served with?

Nothing on his squadron (yet), but Cadet William Albert Wheeler was made a 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), General List, RFC, effective from 16 August 1917 and confirmed in that rank with effect from 7 February 1918. Then, as per the SUPPLEMENT TO THE LONDON GAZETTE, 21 AUGUST, 1945 REGULAR ARMY. EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS. ROYAL REGIMENT OF ARTILLERY. The undermentioned Cadets to be 2nd Lts.: — 8th July, 1945 935741 William Albert WHEELER (252725). Probably not the same person, but an amazing coincidence nonetheless. Graeme |
