Hi Tom,

nice list... but who was in service during december 1917? As far as I know, Bodenschatz was never a member of Jasta 10 (he came directly from Jasta Boelcke to JG 1).

Hello all

Here is another photo of Jasta 10 pilots taken four month sooner than you photo (late july1917) by the time Althaus was CO

(source:Von richthofen's flyng circus: Greg VanWyngarden)

As All pilots of photo are indentified,I think this can help

From left to right

1 Hermann Brettel
2 Bausner
3 Adam Barth
4 Offermann
5 Ernst von Althaus
6 Max Kühn
7 Ernst Weigand (deputy commander)
8 Von beber-Palubizki
9 Erich Loewenhardt
10 Aloys Heldmann

From your list:

you can remove
Dossenberg killed in 3/7/1917
Hess killed 23 dec 1917 when in jasta 20
Hugo Jöns died in 23/9/1917
Max Römer died 2/10/1917

Cordialement

BRUNO

(ps:By the way are you sure that all the men of your photo are pilots and/or that they belong to jasta 10 ?)

Froggy,
Mate, To the best of my knowledge, all the personnel shown are from Jasta 10. Thanks for the pic though.

Hi Tom,

Several do exist. Most of them stem from a visit by Karl Albrecht, Archduke of Austria-Hungary, to Jasta 10’s airfield at Marckebeke on 9 September 1917. Some captured Voss showing his 103/17 triplane to the Archduke with several Jasta 10 pilots standing nearby. Others show Voss and various Jasta 10 pilots sitting down to a meal with the Archduke. A few others show Voss inspecting a captured rotary engine along with Erich Loewenhardt. These are ones that come to mind at the moment.

Regards,

Lance
