Sergeant Charles Bonnard

I am wondering if there was ever a of Sergeant Charles Bonnard of MS.3 who was on the Macedonian front. I have found very few references to any one with that name other than that there was a Bonnard who was well liked by every one of MS.3. Supposedly Guynemer received the Le Vieux Charles aircraft after Bonnard left for the Macedonian front. Does any one have any definitive info or is all of this complete rubbish?

Hello

Yes this is perfectly true-Guynemer just entered the escadrille MS3 when he
shot down his first plane, an Aviatik B(19 July 1915)
The Morane saulnier in which he flew for that victory belongued to another pilot, the Sergent Charles Bonnard-The nickname of the aircraft was "Le Vieux Charles"-So in remembrance of his first victory, he called all his planes with this surname as personal marking

Bonnard joined escadrille MS 3 on 12 April 1915, and left on 3 November 1915, to the Orient (as the Saloniki front was called in French documents)
