Hi,

In addition to the book recommended by Rammjaeger, there are a number of secondary sources. There is High Flew the Falcons, The French Aces of World War I, by Herbert Molloy Mason, Jr (Lippincott, NY, 1965, ISBN 65-13698). This is a popular history concentrating on anecdotal stories of a number of French aces, and there is a chapter on Madon. Though one must be wary of a number of errors, the book is a place to start and it is in English. It shouldn't be too hard to find on the used book market.

Even better are the two books in the Osprey "Aircraft of the Aces" series by Jon Guttman: Spad VII Aces of World War I and, especially, Spad XII/XIII Aces of World War I. The latter contains details of the red Spad XII and XIIIs flown by Madon.

Also, of course, Over the Front by Frank W. Bailey and Norman Franks, for a well-documented look at Madon's official victories and accomplishments.

The French publication "Les Francais du Ciel", Academie Nationale de l'Air et de l'Espace, 2005 has a paragraph on him, with all his basic biographical data, if that is what you are looking for.

Another source with similar information is: "Dictionnaire de L'Aviation", by Houart, Published by Seghers,Paris in 1964. Doc

There is also a 2-part work by Daniel Porret, concerning the French aces of WW 1. It was published in the 1980ies, by the (then) SHAA. Am at work right now, so can not remember the title.

Sorry for any spelling errors in the above text.
