Hi

Yes I would like to have more information about Hptm Zühlke...!

I knew only that he was promoted to Hptm on 8 Nov 1914 and that he originally served within Gren. Reg 3.
One source says that he served within an unknown FFA(Feld Flieger Abteilung) in the period 1914-16...

:'(

Hptm. Bruno Zühlke, he was WIA, light, on 20Dec14 (no unit given). He later served as FA 250(A) C.O. in 1917 and then C.O. of FA 221(A) in Dec17. I also have a note that he may have been part of Kofl 7, but no dates. R.

Again no luck with the "Ehren-Rangliste": he was a Major aD in the Reichsheer. He was indeed promoted Hauptmann on 8.11.1914, Patent Number N10n in the ranks of GR 3.

Thanks both

It gave me some further information and indeed his first name..

Rick, are you sure that Zühlke served as commander within FAA 221..?
The book about this unit dont give his name and Hptm x Heintz is mentioned as their commander from late 1916 until early 1918...Do you have Heintz first name..?

I have a similar problem with the Saxon FAA 250, where Hptm x Minarski probably was the "original" commander in late 1916, and he did not left until 15 Dec 1917, when Hptm x Schäffer did took over the command, which he hold until 18 Oct 1918...
Do have either(or both) Minarskis or Schäffers first names..??
Strangely neither of Minarski or Schäffer seems to have been of Saxon origin..??

Hptm Heintz probably originally belonged to IR 157 and was promoted Hptm on 180915.
Hptm Minarski originally belonged to L Btl 5 and was promoted Hptm on 18 Dec 1915.
And lastly Hptm Schäffer seems to have belonged originally to IR 76 but was promoted Hptm already on 24 Dec 1914

Perhaps Zühlke hold some short temporary commands of these units, while their commander was on some vacation or kursus, or my information on Minarski is wrong..???

???

Thanks very very much Rick..!!

Two new first names to add to my files.. ..

Some few thoughts..

It is obvious that Heintze did hold the command of FAA 221 until 28 Jan 18..he possible went further to Idflieg..

Zühlke is more complicated, but his service within FAA 221 was most certain as temporary status(commander), as was his service within FAA 250..
However he did become commander of Grufl 7..!
A post he hold until 29 Aug 18, when he was posted to Idflieg.
Kofl 7 is probably a typo for Grufl 7, or he served in Kofl 7(7 Army) in 1917 before moving to Flanders..

Minarski left Grufl 7 on 4 Jul 1918 when he was posted to staf Kogenluft.

Hptm x Schäffer did become commander of Grufl 27 after his service with FAA 250 in Oct 18.
His service in Kdo Gent was a short temporary assignment

:-/
