WW1 Fighter pilot reference photo's

Hello,

I'm looking for good quality reference photo's for a series of portrait drawings that I'm doing, I'm thinking Mannock, McCudden, etc

I have already completed a portrait of The Red Baron to give you a taster, I would really appreciate any help with this !!!!

Bonjour Ardizzonne

Welcome to the aerodrome!

Really great drawings

You should go to the "Aces" section of the site
most of aces biographies give the photo of the pilot
like Georges Guynemer

Cordialement

Take a look at "British and American Aces of WW1" by Norman Franks - a Schiffer publication 2005. Also "German Aces of WW1" by Norman Franks and Greg VanWyngarden. Schiffer, 2004. If you want to go to WW2, then try "British and Commonwealth Aces of WW2", Schiffer 2006. All three give good pictorial coverage of virtually all the top aces. Normanf
