Unidentified RFC pilot

Greetings,

Can anyone help me identify this New Zealand pilot -or make any suggestions as to how to obtain such help? Whilst the photo does not show appropriate detail, the badges he is wearing appear to be those of the 6th Manawatu Mounted Rifles. I'm sure there can't be too many men of that outfit to transfer to the RFC but the New Zealand archive people tell me that they can only provide details based on the person's name -which is the object of the exercise!

Thanks in advance.

With some outside help, I've found that there is a high possibility that this is 2nd Lt. Cuthbert Dallas Grant who was promoted from Corporal to Temp 2nd Lt on 21 January 1918 with a further promotion to Flying Officer in February of the same year.

Can anyone point me in a directoin where I could find out more about him? For example whether he survived the war or not?

Thanks.
