My new years Forum resolution has been not to get into anymore Voss last fight debates. So I'll offer this: the Voss fight has been discussed numerous times on this site. Its an amazing fight in so much as opinions vary greatly as to what actually transpired. Alex Revell in his definative 56 Sqn history 'High in the Empty Blue' gives a most comprehensive account of the 56 Sqn pilots involvement in this affair and every other air battle the squadron fought in. However I suspect you may not be in the position to track down this gem of WW1 aviation literature.

Failing that, drop me your mail address in Private Messages and I will send you my take on this most famous of air fight.

Cheers Russ
