Question Alan Bennett & Popkin documents

While reading through old discussion topics, I found a reference to a letter or documents that historian Alan Bennett found regarding the way gunner Popkin fired on Richthofen before he died. This was part of a discussion on the Discovery Channel Red Baron program from 2002.

Would anyone have any information on what these documents contain or where they are now?

I believe that a letter written by Popkin in 1935 ruled him out as MvR's lethal opponent because he was not firing at the right angle but frontally. This evidence seems to contradict the conclusions in Bennett's book that he wrote with Norman Franks.

I'm wondering whether there is anything new to add to this.

Now that you mention the book. I really liked it.
It was published into German Language under the Title: "Der Rote Baron sein letzter Flug - Die Wahrheit über den Tod des deutschen Fliegerasses" by Heel Verlag, Königswinter, Special Edition 2007.

I would also be interested to know if this information is outdated.?
