Hi Alex

I have his first name as Paul. He was a Saxon, dont knew if he was observer or pilot...

His "home" regiment is given as 6 FAR 68 and he was promoted to Hptm on 21 May 14.

Apparentlly he was the original commander of FAA 226 when the unit was formed in the spring of 1916.

Within 1 German Army Grufls were formed already before they become official in Dec. 1916. So beside beeing commander of FAA 226 he was also "Grufl" N in the autumn of 1916. Grufl N was split up in Dec 1916 when the German Air Force was re-organized. So I have him as as Grufl 6 when the unit was formed...

I have that he served within FBS Köln-Stolp in the summer - autumn of 1917. But he apparently returned to his command of Grufl 6 in the late autumn of 1917....

Maybe the book about Saxon Hauptleute have more information..???
