I would like to see that footage. You can place it on YouTube for us to watch.
Here is the links to the Anthony Fokker footage at Steven Spielberg Film Archives:

To get a copy of the films, I had to sign a copywright release to get a copy from the SSHM that in effect says that I have this copy for my own use. It is a very tightly controlled and limited copywright release from Steven Spielberg's HM.
If you drop me a line I can send you the form in which to get your own copy from SSHM. (tcrean7828@yahoo.com) and you can have it copied at one of their copy centers for a reasonable price on VHS,DVD, etc.
It is great watching the film - b/w and silent - on the big screen.

Hi Tom,
I did not know that Manfred von Richthofen HU was talking about the same footage as the two from the SS archives. Sorry...
I like these two Fokker films. I know that MvR had a good relationship with Fokker but why is there so much footage of Goering. It looks like they were good friends more so then Richthofen. Is this how he got an all white D.VII?

Mate,
Apparently Fokker was a film "want-to-be" and so whenever he was in a clip, he stuck them all together.
Also from what I have read that MvR and Fokker were buisness close, if you get my meaning. He wanted the lastest aircraft at the front and he wanted them now and that is what Fokker attempted to do - but if you read enough about MvR he was not impressed with the F.I as he thought he would be, only after Werner showed him what it could do did he finally warm up the the idea.
Tony liked to be in the pocket of whom-ever was the top dog at the time that could cement a new deal on his aircraft - apparently Goering got to be the top dog when MvR bit the dust.

Hi Rittmeister,
That's it my friend. I have to view it like that too. I guess I have to buy a copy to view it like Tom can.
Tom,
What was the cost of the first film?

Mate,
It depends on what media you want it transferred to- I got mine on vhs which was the cheepest. I think $35 per movie (but that was a few years ago), but that is only a guess.
Who ever wants the forms, just drop me a line via email and I'll attach it to
the return.
It took me darn near 2 weeks to find out the proper people to talk to in order to get it correct. After you fill out the form - 3 emails later to different people. (1 - to get the form, 2-to find out the price from the list of peple that will do it, 3- letting the people in part 1 where I wanted the work done and on what media) After that it was a snap to get completed.

Hi Rittmeister!
To view the Fokker film in full screen, place the mouse cursor on the picture. Right click to reveal a menu. Select Zoom, then Full Screen. I just tried it and it works. Hope this will help you.

Tom,
I contacted them on April 2009, and purchased a copy on DVD of both films (aprox 45 min). Let me tell you, they are very strict about their copyright laws.
The process was somewhat tedious but straightforward. First, I had to tell them that the footage was for my personal use only, and then I had to sign all the paperwork.
Then I had to contact an authorized lab in the DC area to arrange for shipment and reproduction of the footage. The museum only sends their material on Fridays.
Finally after about two weeks, the DVD was sent to me by overnight courier.
The guys at the Museum and the Lab were very friendly and helpful
The total cost was over $220, but It is worth every penny !

Mate,
I agree, they are very strict about their copyright laws and anyone who doesn't believe us, had better own Fort Knox or be kin to Donald Trump - cus it will cost you a pretty penny when they latch onto your behind.
The tapes I got, are worth their weight in gold. I am glad that you got a copy and enjoy them as much as I do and yes the price for DVD was pretty steep for the DVD version copy and, as I said, I got mine on VHS back when it was the cheapest and I could afford it.
Like I said, seeing them on the big screen brings them even closer to life.
