Mate,
I see, but I hope that you understand that my guess on Werners heigth was just that "a Guess". No imperical evidence to support my conclusion.

Hi all,

Manfred was about 172 cm tall - so was Werner:

mate,
Frontflieger, just out of curosity where did you find this info about Werners Height.

I got my info about Manfred from talking to Peter Kiduff and from his book ‘Red Baron: The life and Death of an Ace’ - in which he says that manfred was 5'6".

Still just a guess on my part, mind you, but Werner looked just a little bit taller than the von when you compare both pics (one with flight caps and another with flying helmets. Also the possibility is still there that I could be mistaken/ and or wrong. It is just that I have not seen any imperical data or for that matter anything written, as to his height thats all.

Have a look at the Sanke Card. Isn't Voss +/- as tall as von Richthofen?

Height

I'm not sure the degree to which this may distort the relative heights, but if you notice, MvR is standing perhaps a foot or more closer to the camera lens (note the position of their feet). Wouldn't that make MvR appear to be a bit taller than if he were even with V (or make V even taller--- comparatively)..........John
