"...to gain an understanding..."
Isn't that what this is all about? One can never calculate/assure success, and there will alway be those who abuse...
...but for the spark that may ignite in a fresh mind, and for the chance that the beauty may survive: any effort, no matter how personally painful, is worth it...at least in my less-than-humble position of one who sits on the sidelines and grasps at any momentary scent of the laurel that is set upon the brow of the victor.
You who have known --even if only in a secondary nature-- should appreciate the intense interest of those of us who reside in the "cheap seats". If you were the only one to hear Beethoven's Fifth, or Mozart's ... well...anything!... then perhaps you would understand the fervent interest in your recollections.
In this time of Wiki and Google, information seems to have lessened in value. I offer a defiant: phlllpt! There is only one personal story which, if lost, is lost forever. I encourage any and all who have stories to tell to take the time to preserve them for future generations: the energy/effort you expend will be appreciated/paid-back a thousandfold.

You see what happens when one tells the truth. My post No.23 was deleted and earned an infringement for 'a personal attack on a forum member'. If my very mild statement - which incidently was a statement of fact - can earn an infringement and threats of dire consequences, what is the point in posting any adverse comments on a forum member when they have overstepped the mark in a matter of opinion. Taz did not earn a rebuke when he made the comment that RFC/RAF pilots were liars. When I think of some of the posts in the past which have earned no censure at all, it adds to my own and the belief of many people who have emailed me on this point that there is a positive bias towards some members. It makes one wonder if it is worthwhile posting at all, on anything, let alone taking the time and trouble to comply with the original request of this thread.

Dear Alex,
it is not my intention to defend anybody, at least I have find Taz as nice man and I hope that you are also fine gentleman. Also I would not go to talk about the moderations of the forum, every board have its own rules. I am also damned by many and every have own reason, and off course many stay away from facts (yes- facts, not truth, everybody have own truth but facts is facts).
For sure is that you have a lot of info and maybe I could give you some advice... one wise Internet developer said 'When you have something to say and nobody want to listen you- open your blog.'
So you can always express your info and opinion and get more from your data. Forums are good but every forum have its own policy and rules. Thats why some forums failed and some running successfully.
Regards from Serbia

"sigh"..... o.k. , as thread starter I think I have a right to say this .. so I'm gunna .
Can we just get back to posters who want to tell of their experiences of meeting Great War aircrew/groundcrew .... if not then we can just cut to the chase and start perhaps ??... a claims debate or something like that ?.

It's "grown up", as in "adult"
Hope that helps.
