Mark,

sorry , I'm nitpicking here but FA 24 did not exist in 1915. You mean FFA 24. This is important because at the end of 1916 and the beginning of 1917 there had been a reorganisation within the german Luftstreitkräfte. On 11 Jan 1917 the old FFA 54 was renamed FA 24 and the old FFA 24 was renamed FAA 264 on 31 Dec 1916.

Thanks Immo, i was thinking too if it should be FFA 24. What was the story of these 2 german airmen? were these their only victories? did they survive the war?

I always thought Bamber was shot down by Walter Hohndorf wich is the only claim i have in the day Bamber died. Were there any other British losses on this day? Which aircraft was Bamber flying?

Many questions i know

Best regards
Joao

Kelway-Bamber and Howie were in FE2a 5644.

Other RFC losses on this date, 11 November 1915, were:

2nd Lt V M Grantham, No 8 Sqn RFC, Pow in BE2c 1711

Lt W A Harvey, BE2c 1725, Pow; died 7-Nov-1918 - this was the 3rd victory for Hpt Hans-Joachim Buddecke of FFA23.

As far as I am aware, Walter Hohndorf didn't score his first victory until 17 January 1916.
