Who was Krefft?

I've seen a couple of photos of him but I don't know anything about his service in Jasta 11.How many victories did he have and was he a popular member?

Info on Lt Krefft

Willi,

The questions have been asked here before. This link will provide you with as much detail on Krefft as is known. He was the technical officer of JG 1 so he frequently accompanied Richthofen on business and would appear in photos with him. He died sometime in the 1920's in Bad Kreuznach. Specific details on his post-war life are unknown.

Lt. Krefft

Mate,
I have a section in my book that talks about Ltn. Krefft. In fact about all of the info that I have been able to gleam about the man.

Hopefully, the book will be out in 8 to 12 weeks, at least from what the publisher indicates.

The only addition to my entry in The Jasta Pilots, is that he was born 18 January 1892, at a place called Oelde. He achieved 2 victories, 11 March 1917 and 2 April 1917, an FE8 and an FE2b. Normanf

Krefft has always interested me too. He seems to have been jasta 11's Zelig character, you know, the type who was everywhere and must have participated in some amazing historical moments. I recall reading that he lived in South America after the war. I'll try to find a reference.

Looking forward to your book too, Tom.
