Crashed AVRO 504A

Hi all,

I have a photo of a crashed AVRO 504A with the pilot standing in front of it.
The aeroplanes serial number is A526.
On the back of the photo is written:

Aeroplane smash at Cramlington Aerodrome, Northumberland.
December 6th 1916.
Pilot standing in centre of picture (Not hurt).

Can anyone identify the pilot?

I know the RAF museum holds casualty cards for this period, but you need a name to search them.
If anyone can identify the pilot or point me to records at the National Archives or RAF museum that might help, I would be most grateful.

Rob.
