Richard Cadman
On 20th August 1937 the London Gazette reported that Captain Richard Cadman (late RAF) was granted commission as Squadron Leader and appointed to the command of 614 (County of Glamorgan) (Army Cooperation) Squadron. He later went on to become Honorary Air Commodore of the Squadron. During his time in the RFC/RAF in WWI he was supposedly 'Mentioned in Despatches'.
Can anyone tell me anything about his time in the RFC/RAF in WWI?
His son, Richard Edward Charles Cadman, was on 29.08.1939 transferred from Auxiliary Air Force General Duties Branch to Auxiliary Air Force Administrative and Special Duties Branch where he remained until he retired from the RAF in 1949. He, also, was supposedly 'Mentioned in Despatches'. Can anyone tell me if it would have been possible for someone in the Admin branch to get a Mention and for what?
