G'day Ginger! Yes what this forum needs is some humour input from "Chaps/Blokes" like you, crankcase & me to Lighten up the Colour Debate but then if we lighten it too much it might be Yellow Vs Beige!

Ridiculed? Surely not, Burden's photo with it's annotated details and sketches must be the stuff researcher's dreams are made of. What a shame more pilots (or mechanics and fitters) didn't do the same, especially on the German side.

The SE5a with the blue/PC10 diamonds (B658) is indeed a home defence machine. Flown by Lewis during his time with 61 squadron in January 1918.

Many years ago I did that scheme on a 1/72 scale Revell SE, if I tried it now, mi' eyballs would explode!
