Can anyone tell me what type of squadron this was, what type of aircraft they were flying in and where were they based in 1918?

It was an aerial reconnaisance unit. It would have conducted aerial photography of enemy positions both at the lines and well behind. If the designtion FA (A) 202 or similar, then it would also have flown artillery observation missions where they ranged the artillerie's guns and notified them via wireless telegraphy about their accuracy so they could correct it.

The types of aircraft flown by these units were by 1918:

1. DFW C.V
2. LVG C.V and C.VI
3. Halberstadt C.V
4. Rumpler C.IV, V, VI, VII, and Rubild

In the beginning of 1918 FA(A) 202 was with German 2nd Army taking part at the "Michael" offensive in the area between St. Quentin and Péronne.
Towards the end of May FA (A) moved the German 7th Army to support the "Blücher" offensive between Laon and Soissons. It seemed that the unit moved in July 1918 the 18th army but evidences are not clear.
Sotty, but I cannot trace the unit's way toward the EOW for sure ...
