Hello, Are there any museums where MvR memorabilia is on display? I was led to believe that the engine and seat from his triplane are in a military museum in Toronto. Thanks, willycoppens

The Australian War Memorial(Canberra) has his boots, control stick, step-up and some other stuff. His engine is in the Imperial War Museum(london).

The seat is in the Royal Can. Military Institute in Toronto.

I would like to know what happened to the Carisella collection or the Charles Donald collection of Richthofen stuff.

Tony

GDay
Please forgive me if I don't quite get this right but after becoming registered yesterday this is my first post! So "Gday" from 'downunder' to all in the forum!

Just a note to say that I was at the Australian RAAF museum on Sunday, after the Avalon air show, and was delighted to view the small MvR display ...........
6 pieces were on display
Spark plug
Linkage assembly
Cockpit instrument (altimeter?)
Tip of one of his guns
Small red fabric piece
Unidentified small metal part

By the way it was great to see aircraft visiting from Old Rhinebeck............first time Ive ever seen a DR1 actually fly!

Looking forward to being a part of the forum..................now I wonder where the other Mvr memorabilia in Australia is..........looks like a worthy project!!!

Cheers

Tony (ehrenpries)
