Hi Cnock

The Lt x Ahrens in FFA 41/FAA 258 was a really "long timer", serving in the unit from circa mid 1915 until at least Aug 1917. During this time he was promoted to Oblt.

Heitmüller was highly decorated as he received the GMVK, the PlM for non-officers. So his biblio might be found in some book.

Vizefeldwebel Heinrich Heitmüller :

Volubnteered for Fliegertruppe on August 11, 1914. Had long career on the Western Front. Joined Feldflieger-Abteilung 41 in mid-1915. Served there with later Pour le Merite winner, Hermann Köhl. Shot up on March 13, 1916 and forced down just within German lines. Valuable work bombing Dunkirk ad other enemy staging areas resulted in Iron Cross, 1st Class about this time. Participated in battles of the Somme in 1916 ans in Flanders and Cambrai in 1917 in now redisignated Fliege-Abteilung (A)258. On March 27, 1918 in German offensive against Bapaume, Heitmüller seriously wounded. Decorated with the Golden Military Merit Cross on March 29 when in hospital. Declared unfit for further service in the war

Thanks for sharing these nice photos Cnock..

Do you happen to knew when FAA 258 was stationed at Pecq..?
I have several airfields for them during 1917 but not Pecq.

Regarding these early commanders Ruff and Hermann Krüger, I have basically the same question as you, i.e. I want more information about them..

Ruff was a Württemberger, so it exist basic information on him. However Hermann Krüger is tricky..
If anyone knew the date and place of birth for Krüger I will be glad.
