Marcel Viallet, or Vialet?
An article by J. Mortane states "Marcel Viallet," and appears to have a
photograph with the autograph "M. Viallet," yet the Musee des Hommes gives his name as "Marcel Vialet" in their fiche of his service record. Which surname is correct? If it is "Viallet," why is the official record card in error? Are such errors frequent, or exceptional? Regards Josquin |

Bonjour
His exact surmname is Vialet with one 'L' look here is signing at bottom of his record on Memoire des Hommes archives  These sort of errors are relatively exceptionnal, hopefully Cordialement Bruno |

One sees something similar with French ace
 Alfred Heurtaux/Heurteaux. The first is correct, but the second is commonly found, probably because it comes from a popular postcard.Bulldog90 |
