Since DTB raised the issue, can you explain what kinds of records are
available that prove which French victory claims were, in fact, officially
confirmed? Many of us realize that the French confirmation procedure
was rigorous and exacting, but how can we determine if victory claims
were officially confirmed? Is it award citations? Communiques? I
hesitate to ask about an official list of pilots and E.A. totals, such as the
Italians compiled after the war, because my concern was whether
Adjudant Damenez was omitted in error from just such a list.

Non. Mais j'ai celle reçue à la fin de la guerre, qui dit clairement qu'il a eu un total de 3 victoires aériennes. C'est tout à fait possible qu'il y ait eu une erreur. Mais à défaut d'avoir vu son dossier individuel, on restera dans le flou.

De toute façon, il faudrait savoir où le chercher son dossier. Etant donné qu'il n'était pas un officier, son dossier est dans les archives départementales de son lieu de naissance. Etant donné qu'il est né à l'étranger, où chercher ?
