Escaped German Pilots?

I've read about several French pilots who escaped capture and returned to fly again (roland Garros, eugene Gilbert, armand Pinsard, etc..), but are there any examples of German pilots accomplishing something similar?

Guenther Pluschow escaped from a prison camp in England, disguised himself as a Dutch seaman, and made his way aboard a Dutch ship to neutral Holland. From there he managed to get back to Germany, where he was promptly arrested as a spy. He was finally able to prove his identity and return to duty, I think he was made a naval station commander.

From FFA 17 Vfw fritz Stattus managed to escape from a french POW camp.
Also they are from the KUK but future kanoe Obltn Raoul Stojauljevic and his observer Ltn Johannes Reichel managed to escape from the Russians after being forced to land behind their lines.

Hello,

The list of French aviators escaped is important, but I'm surprised to see few names in your answers for Germans . Do you know, please, some reasons for this?

I know well more the captivity in Germany and escapes for French aviators than the German, British or American side, but is there nothing in German old news-papers?
In French old news-papers, you can to find some mentions or articles about French escaped aviators, because was an hero act, I think.

(I'm happy to have the book "Mes six évasions" of the French pilot Charles NIOX (Son of the French General of the same name) captured on the 13 september, 1915 on Voisin aircraft and with Gaston de la GUERRANDE (Escaped also, but on 1916, before Charles NIOX) his observer. In his book, Charles speaks of his captivity, attempts of escape and finally the escape of Germany (the 6th attempt) on november, 1917. An interesting book on the captivity for Frenchs in Germany, I find).

Herbert Volck,

Shot down behind the Russian front, he escaped twice.
After making it from Siberia to Mongolia he was captures by Russian Cossacks outside Russian territory.
The first treatment was alright, as he was an officer ,he stated. Since it was illegal to escape he was now treated as a common criminal, which to say the least was not pleasant…
After the second escape he gets caught up in the chaos of the Revolution and finally makes it to Mossul, Persia in January 1918 after a 1000km march. Hindenburg gets the personal debrief and recommends to write a book about it.
Between the wars he runs a detective agency. Personally knows Herman Goering and Martin Borman.
Involvement during WII is unclear. He is executed in the concentration camp Buchenwald shortly after the assassination attempt on Hitler. As a WWI hero and officer this was unusual, therefore the suspected involvement in the overthrow. No records exist.
A hero in my book.

Thanks for your info on Herbert Volck. Do you have any more dates in his story?
Augie Blume gives only his date of capture on 20-10-1915 and that his pilot was Wilhelm Lampe from FFL.Abt.27.
