Cairnes brothers - were both aces?

I see the site records William Jameson Cairnes (74 Squadron) as an ace, but his brother Thomas Agar Elliot Cairnes (32 Squadron) received the DSO.

Does anyone have a particular edition of Cross & Cockade or some similar publication re the list of claims in respect of T.A.E. Cairnes?

If anyone has a link to T.A.E. Cairnes' DSO citation I'd be really grateful.

(Another brother, Francis Herbert Cairnes, served with the Royal Field Artillery).

The award of the DSO was announced in the London Gazette of 1 January 1917 (Gazette number 29886, page 40), one of 15 RFC recipients. As this was a New Year's honour there was no citation other than being a reward for "distinguished service in the field".

I have no victories listed for T A E Cairnes.

I beleive T A E Cairnes had been an observer with 15 Sqn, and after pilot training he became a flight commander in 27 Sqn. Later he commanded 32 Sqn. Cairnes only had one eye, the result of a polo injury pre-war. He went on to command 22 Wing. In 27 Sqn he had a combat on 26 April 1916 and shared a possible ooc victory with Lt A H W Tollemache, while on 19 May he and Tollemache got another possible ooc over an Albatros. Normanf
