Wanted: dead or alive
There is a story that in the early months of the war, the Germans put a price (sometimes quoted as $50,000) on the head of Wing Commander Charles Samson, leader of the RNAS armoured cars in Belgium.
Can anyone point me to an authoritative source for this? As far as I can see, Samson does not mention it in Fights and Flights. Alternatively, can anyone debunk it?
Many thanks
Tede
