Major WE Vernon, RAF

Vernon wrote a report on the development of the flying boat in 1919. I wish to know more about his service, including his full name, etc., if possible. I am assuming he was originally in the RNAS flying flying boats from Felixstowe or similar station.

Colin,

While there is no W E Vernon at all in the Feb 1919 RAF Air Force List I note that there is listed a Major W F Vernon of the Technical Branch.

He may well be one and the same as the Wilfred Fausltone Vernon (born 17 Oct 1883) for whom his AIR76 service record file is available for ordering online through the TNA.
