After Lt. Borsch was KIA on 17 June 1916 a news paper reported he got the Ritterkreuz 2. Klasse of the Saxon Albrechtsorden. I have a list with 372 members of the GAF honoured with just this award but Borsch is lacking there.

Is there anybody out there (by pure accident) with additional info about Borsch´s awards?

The Stammregiment was not given but he was a teacher in Riesa and this was a garrison town (and hopefully he was serving there but ...hm).
I could also look for the listing of the Saxon officers in the Saxon Offizierskalender for 1914 but not today ...

Hm, if he was a teacher in Riesa before the outbreak of war, he most probably held a Reserve-rank. :-/
Obviously that's why I'm not able to find him in the Ehrenrangliste.

Does the sächs. Offizierskalender lists Reserve-Officers? If not, that will be a "harte Nuß"...

Immo,

I dicovered Borsch is really a Reserve-Officer.

And the mentioned source reads "Sachsens Militär-Vereins-Kalender auf das Jahr 1914" and is inclding a list of the "Beurlaubtenstand" and also a list of officers allowed to carry a uniform despite not being active officers.

I don't know if the Militär-Vereins-Kalender gives the regiment of Reserve officers. Anyway he was a Leutnant der Reserve (9. 12. 11 L) in 12. Infanterie-Regiment Nr.177 on the books of Landwehr-Bezirk Großhenhain.

Regards
Glenn

Thank you very much, Glenn!

Your help saved a lot of (maybe successless) search work in the Kalender!
