Ladies and Gentlemen:
* When Paul S. Winslow died he bequeathed to me his Royal Flying Corps Tie. *When We visited with Ruth Winslow, she gave me the tie and told me, "Paul wanted you to have his RFC *tie." It was very difficult not to cry, I was so moved by his generousity.
* *I am offering Paul's RFC tie to the one who writes the best essay on Paul S. Winslow.
* *I will read all entries carefully and will pick the best essay. One question that must be answered, is what are you going to do with the tie. *Remember this is an essay about Paul S. Winslow.
* *The closing date will be 10 August 2002. *I will announce the winner on the Aerodrome Forum on *that date and ship *the tie to the winner. Good luck to all.

* * * * * * * * * * * * *Blue skies,
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * *Dan-San

Ladies and Gentlemen:
Patti got on my case and told me that you must give them more time to research and write their essays. So, I will move the closing date to 1 October 2002.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

Cool idea, Dan! I already have an RFC tie from Brandy Bryers, but this is a neat thing. Some new collectors of RFC memoribilia should jump on this opportunity.

Hi Dan-San,

I hope you received a fair amount of submissions on your essay contest. Keep us posted of who was the winner.

I think you can remove the "red tack" on this thread so it isn't always the top thread, since the deadline has passed.

Very best,
Dave

You are not going to believe this, NOT ONE RESPONSE. I thought sure someone would want a real RFC tie!
Sad,
