Oxford Cadet ID wanted

Greetings -

Can anyone identify the cadet in the center of this photo ? *

To the left is Harold Bulkley, killed in a crash at Hounslow 18 Feb 1918, to the right is Walter Chalaire, 55 Squadron RAF, POW'd in 1918.

They are shown at Oxford, probably late 1917. They were part of the second Oxford detachment which included Elliot Springs, George Vaughn, Arthur Taber, etc.

Any and all clues appreciated. *

The Seanster has a friend Isabel, a real tomboy. Some kid in her class tried that line on her, so she grabbed his arm, threw him, and, being Isabel caught him so he didn't crack his head.

First, sounds like no on but the "Mikes" on the 'drome are interested in the answer to this, but I am quite sure this fellow is not Isabel "Shorty" Smith....

Any other guesses ?

On the serious side, if you had enlistment papers for the members of the class you might be able to narrow the field based on height, since you have two positives to compare against.

Allowing that Bulkley is probably over 6 feet, our subject is definitely shorter than average height. You might be able to eliminate other class members by finding photos of them, but it would be pure luck to narrow it enough.
