I would guess that some of us have forgotten when we didn't know all that much.

VBR,

Al

I take your point Al, I'm sorry.

There is enough entertainment on the Forum from a certain Forum Ace's manic postings (not yours I hasten to add)without my deriving amusement from someone who believes Bishop had over 100 certified kills.

I just think that it's obvious, the poster of that message is a newbie to this "hobby" of amateur aero historian.

Still, I am surprised, considering the way some of the "anti-Bishop" types are always harping on the subject, that there's ANYONE left who doesn't know the story.

VBR,

Al

Al,

I'm not anti or pro Bishop, I'm afraid I just don't know enough about the subject, so I try to keep an open mind.

I have a 210 squadron pilot who carried out a "similar" solo airfield raid and claimed a scout destroyed - it flew into a tree as it took off. My pilot who has actually been quite financially rewarding to me, as I had some work about him published in the Sunday Times this year, was a notorious liar, and worse than that a thief. I can prove the thief part, he was charged but not convicted. He stole a Canadian Ladies handbag but she had to return to Canada before the case came to court - he stole 2 cheques from the landlord of a pub, but the police recovered them before he could use them and the magistrate couldn't decide if there was any "intent" to defraud. He stole numerous other items according to fellow pilots!

I have little trouble in deciding whether my pilot was lying about his raid - I'm sure he was!!
