Regarding
Germany's Teenage Ace by Musciano, the book contains a copy of Voss's actual "War Record" with English translation.
Comparing the English translation to the German writing, it does look like this:
16.Nov.14 - Enlisted at Replacement Eskadron Hussar Regt. II
30.Nov.14 - To Mobile (active) regiment.
20.May.15 - Back to replacement Eskadron.
26.July.15 - Declared unfit for Infantry & Calvary duty. To Crefeld.
01.Aug.15 - To FEA 7, Cologne.
01.Sept.15 - To pilot training school, Crefeld.
12.Feb.16 - To FEA 7, Cologne, I Company.
10.Mar.16 - To fighter squadron IV, Staffel 20.
28.Mar.16 - Staffel 20 with field combat.
21.Nov.16 - Per Kofl. I, Nr.II, a 77 to
Jasta Boelcke permanently ordered.
20.May.17 - To Jasta 5 ordered.
This war record of Voss's is said to have belonged to Charles Donald. Didn't Donald pass away fairly recently? Anyone know where this doc is now?
I'll keep digging around...
