My Gallery
Greetings! *Brand new here; looking forward to learning from everyone.

Since I am new here I thought--before posting any questions--I would start by searching through all the dead threads in the Archives for the subjects in which I am interested, in order to avoid asking any questions that have already been asked a million times in the past. *Great stuff in those archives, BTW! *I can't believe it has taken me so long to find this place.

However, one subject that holds my interest which I haven't seen discussed is Werner Voss' combat availability. *By that I mean I am trying to learn how often he was in a war zone for the specific purpose of flying a combat sortie as a fighter pilot. *If Voss' fighter pilot career spanned from 21 November, 1916 to 23 September, 1917, how much of this period was he absent from his combat flying duties? *The only mention that I have found of Voss' absence from the front is when he went to Schwerin, but I have not seen specific dates (other than "September, 1917") nor a specific length of time (other than "a few days"). *

Any help, thoughts, links, etc., would be appreciated! *

Thanks!

The 'big leave' for Werner Voss was from 7Apr - 5May 1917, following his receipt of the PLM. That meant that he wasn't at the front during most of 'Bloody April'. As you noted, the others were for 'a few days'. R.
