1910 Curtiss Hudson-Flier project photos

Here are some pictures I took last week, of the first parts made of the Hudson Flier that I am building, with the assistance of the Glenn H Curtiss Museum.

Here are the first two ribs - 6 layers of .2" thick spruce strips glued together.

Here are some of the wing spars - 4 layers of .3" thk. ash glued together.
These are not finished, but will be next week.

What are your plans?

Hello, this looks great. Do you plan to fly the Hudson river 2010? That would be the anniversary. If you plan to fly it, what will be the powerplant?

Image?

Hudson-Flier,
Can you post an image of what the plane will look like when done?

Salute!

At this point, we are planning on using a Curtiss OX-6 (100 hp.)

I do intend to re-enact the Albany to NYC flight on or around May 29th, 2010, weather permitting.

Here is a picture of the Hudson Flier as it appeared in July of 1910.

Here's a picture taken today, of a wing section about 80% completed.
