Early Aviation Movies

Does anyone have any idea if movies (films) exist of the early air meets, such as Rheims 1909? I have not seen any, but am sure they must have been made. I would like to get copies for personal use. If you have any sources to recommend, I would appreciate some guidance. Thanks for any suggestions. Doc

I have seen actual footage of the Rheim's Race on either the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, or The Learning Channel.

The footage was of Curtiss's Rheims Racer taking off.

Thanks. I suspected such films exist-- now I just have to find them. Doc

The next time I am at the Curtiss Museum, I will make inquiries about your question.

Just spoke with Trafford at the Curtiss Museum (via phone), and he said that they do not have any footage of that Air Meet.

If I get a chance, I will try and get a copy of the Rheim's Racer film.

May take a while, as some research will have to be undertaken.
